The del.icio.us social bookmarking manager feature is very interesting. I anticipate playing around with it on my home computer.

In Gilroy's tutorial, she mentions "think digital, act analog". Could someone please explain what this means.

Thanks.

I have absolutely no interest in social networking sites such as Myspace or Facebook. IMO, they are a scourge on our society and have little or no socially redeeming value. I am not going to participate in this lesson's discovery exercises.

I joined LibraryThing and am looking forward to exploring its content.

This is a fun sit; I created the best donut ever! And I fully intend to revisit this image generator often and, as they say, play around.

This section on finding newsfeeds is very interesting. The technorati.com site was explored at length, as was the topix.net site. I am not sure what the differences are between a .com and a .net site but this will be a new puzzle for me. Wikipaedia will probably tell me.

Not too long after completing Lesson 8, I was asked about RSS. The person was really impressed when I was able to explain what the initials meant. So was I.

My grandchildren are 2 1/2. Their grasp of these emerging technologies will come soon, particularly since both parents are knowledgable about and at ease with most applications explored in Learning 2.0. It will be a great day when I can contribute to their technology foundation.

Once I tackle Flickr, one of the uses I will explore will be mashing.

Flickr is not something I foresee using but perhaps on a rainy day during retirement I will explore its possibilities.

It would be very helpful to me if I had a hard copy of each Lesson so I could check-off items as they were completed and/or make notes on the copy. It is hard for me to continually transition from screen to ????? and back.

The hardest of the 71/2 HHSLL is Creating My Own Toolbox, specifically , understanding how to navigate these sites. The easiest is Accepting Responsibility For My Own Learning.
